St Barnabas Emotion Toolkit

 

 

As part of our commitment to develop a preventative whole-school mental health and wellbeing approach, in September we introduced the children to the St Barnabas Emotion Toolkit. These are a range of evidence-based strategies that children have been taught which can be used when they are feeling ‘big emotions’.  

Below is a miniature version of the Emotion Toolkit, showing each of the seven strategies as they are displayed in school, together with another document with instructions for how each is used. You may find it useful to talk to your child about these and support and encourage them to use these at home.  

As with everything, this is not a ‘one-size-fits-all' and may not be suitable for some children who are accessing other support to manage their emotional literacy.
